AES Com uses two basic technologies: SDH (Synchronous Digital Hierarchy) and the recently launched MetroEthernet, which supply the necessary infrastructure to our customers for:

·               The intra-network connections of their equipments

·               The interconnection of their voice and data switches

·               The creation of a layer 2 (Ethernet) VPN to connect multiple sites of a given project

·               The access to end users, meeting crucial market requirements.

The SDH network transmits information point-to-point at speeds of 64 kbps and its multiples (nx64k) , 2 Mbps (E1), 34 Mbps (E3), 45 Mbps (T3), 155 Mbps (STM-1), 622 Mbps (STM-4) and 2,5 Gpbs (STM-16).

The MetroEthernet network offers point-to-point and multipoint-to-multipoint circuits at speeds that range from nx64 Kbps to 1 Gbps. These two basic services can assume different flavors according to customer’s application and originate different products offered to the market.

The whole network uses optical fibers. There is no wireless or copper technology in use. It explains the high quality of service perceived by the customers.

AES Com's Planning and Engineering is always searching for new technologies and applications to be used on new products and services.
