Maintenance Center

Close to the Network Operation Center (NOC), the Network Maintenance Center (NMC) also works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year. It is responsible for installation of new services and for preventive and corrective maintenance of the network.


The activities of NOC and NMC are closely integrated. If malfunctions detected by NOC require technician dispatches to the defective site, NMC is immediately informed. Moreover, new installations and preventive maintenance activities are scheduled by NOC and executed by NMC.


NMC has a big laboratory known as “the factory”. In this lab, equipments and systems are assembled, configured and tested before being moved to PoPs, customers’ sites and backbone nodes.


NMC is located at Rio Comprido, a strategic location, since it is close to expressways that give fast access to all regions in Rio de Janeiro. It permits shorter recovery times to services rendered by AES Com.
