The main market addressed by AES Com is the carrier’s carrier segment, although its customer portfolio also includes Internet Service Providers and some corporations. The decision of restricting the operation to this market segment allows AES Com a neutral and trustable positioning before its customers.

The main characteristics of this market are:

·       The intense competition among the operators to provide telecommunications services to corporations and residential customers.

·      The extreme difficulty to build local access infrastructure to install and grow competitors’ networks to reach the end user.

Along the years, AES Com has built its client base with almost all telecom carriers in the region covered by its network. AES Com makes them feasible to connect their end customers with a competitive local cost and the outstanding quality of the optical fiber network.

While AES Com keeps itself as a carrier’s carrier, it participates indirectly of several different markets. The circuits and solutions provided by the company are used for traditional voice, Voice over IP, LAN- to-LAN connections, Internet access, voice and data interconnection, data centers, video streaming and many other applications. AES Com’s network and products evolve as new markets are addressed by its customers.

In a recent survey carried out by Anuário Telecom, a national telecommunications magazine, AES Com is ranked as the third largest company in telecommunications services infrastructure segment in Brazil, outrivaled only by two satellite businesses, controlled by large fixed carriers and with international operations.

The expertise in keeping a high availability on its own network, led AES Com to offer network maintenance services. In addition to optical fiber networks, third parties’ metallic cable and radio networks are also maintained through contracts between AES Com and the corporate market.
